Miguel Britos bundled home an injury-time effort to snatch a 3-3 draw for Watford against Liverpool – but should it have stood?
The Reds looked as though they had put all speculation and uncertainty over Philippe Coutinho’s future to one side to win their opening Premier League clash – only for Britos to head home from point-blank range in the dying moments to seal a 3-3 draw.
However, the Watford defender seemed to be offside for the 93rd-minute goal from Nordin Amrabat’s low cross from the right-wing by-line.
“We were unlucky in the end,” Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said.
“The equaliser was offside. It’s obvious because the linesman is on the line. He needs to see it.”
