Nemanja Matic was bought by Manchester United this summer for his defensive qualities, but he showed off another side of his game against West Ham on Sunday.
The midfielder went on a mazy run in the first half of the 4-0 win, jinking past several tackles before breaking down the touchline.
The move was greeted by a loud cheer from the Old Trafford crowd, who would no doubt have been impressed with Matic’s overall performance.
“I still can’t believe Chelsea have let him go,” said Gary Neville afterwards. “It just does not make sense. I thought he was outstanding today.
“He did everything really well. We’ve seen him a lot over the years but I thought he was better on the ball than I’ve seen him before. He was really composed and you have to say that his passing was good.”
