Paul Casey started his third round on moving day at the US Open in a share of the lead but his hopes for a first major hit a wall as the Englishman found trouble at the US Open.
Casey made the perfect start with a birdie at the first but his round unravelled on the third when he found the much maligned fescue rough with his second shot at the third.
The former world No 3 took two attempts to move his ball out of the hay and even then could only muster a triple bogey from off the putting green.
Casey also found trouble in the rough yesterday before making another triple bogey, that time at the par four 14th, .
The Englishman was three-over par through his opening 10 holes to move back to four under par for the competition as he played himself out of contention in Wisconsin.
