Brentford and Southampton will donate any profit they receive from their pre-season friendly on July 22 to the Grenfell Tower Disaster Fund.
The friendly is to be played at Griffin Park, situated close to Grenfell Tower, and Brentford are hoping to put on other fundraising activities on the day, as well as donating the profits from ticket sales.
in order to support those affected and it has already raised over £130,000 from donations.
Mark Devlin, CEO of Brentford, released a statement on the club website.
“The Club is situated relatively close to the site of the disaster, and we wanted to do something to support our community and those affected,” he said.
“Brentford is very much a Community Club and I’m delighted that Southampton have joined with us in donating the profits from the ticket sales of our Friendly match.
“We also anticipate there will be other fundraising activities on the day and we hope that as many fans as possible will be able to attend the game, so that we can raise as much as possible.”
