Gary Anderson bounced back from a final defeat to Steve Beaton on Saturday by winning his 20th Players Championship title in Wigan 24 hours later.

World number two Anderson overcame Ian White 6-1 in Sunday’s showdown, having fallen 6-3 to Beaton in the weekend’s opening final.

“These tournaments are hard work, so it’s really good to get the win,” said Anderson, as quoted on . “Steve was fantastic yesterday and it was my turn today.

“I love it when the old boys stand up and show everyone what we can do. We are still doing the business and the young guys aren’t quite there yet.”

Earlier on Sunday, Anderson edged past Mickey Mansell 6-5 before beating Harry Robinson 6-4.

Anderson was also victorious against Kyle Anderson, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Richard North and Rob Cross en route to the final.
